Request to remove 'playground' plat note would clear way for a home on vacant lot
The owner of a vacant 0.98-acre lot asks the city to strike the word "playground" from the recorded plat so a single-family home can be built. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval; the City Council heard the request Feb. 27, 2024.
About this application
The owner of a 0.98-acre lot on the south side of E. Ranch Drive in Eagle's Eagle Ranch Subdivision No. 2 asked the city to remove the word "PLAYGROUND" from the recorded plat. The lot was never developed as a playground, and removing the note would let the owner build a single-family home there. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval, but the City Council had not yet decided in this packet.
Robert DeShazo, represented by KM Engineering LLP, is requesting a vacation of a plat note applicable to Lot 2, Block 3 of the Eagle Ranch Subdivision No. 2 final plat. The applicant requests the word "playground" be vacated to permit future residential development of the existing, vacant parcel. The 0.98-acre lot is located on the south side of E. Ranch Drive, approximately 1,000 feet east of Eagle Road.
