Idaho Power seeks roughly 8% expansion of electrical substation
Idaho Power wants to enlarge the fenced yard of an existing substation by about 8% to add new and upgraded equipment, plus a new driveway and full enclosure. The city is reviewing the request at the staff level; no decision has been made.

Idaho Power Company proposed a new electric substation at 4501 E. Warm Springs Avenue, with a one-story masonry building, landscaping, berms and fencing. It also proposed a 2.2-mile transmission line from the Boise Bench Substation across the Boise River, using four poles 74.5 to 83.5 feet tall that need a height exception. The Planning and Zoning Commission approved the request in January 2005.
