Granite Companies LLC, represented by KM Engineering, asks Canyon County to change the future land use designation of a 46.5-acre former gravel pit at 7044 Rim Road, Nampa, from agriculture to rural residential. The applicant's conceptual layout shows about 20 rural residential lots averaging 2.27 acres. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended denial, and the County Commissioners are scheduled to hear the request on July 15, 2026.

Granite Companies LLC, represented by KM Engineering, requests a Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment of Parcel R29892010 from an “agriculture” future land use designation to a “rural residential” future land use designation. Due to the property currently being used for mineral extraction, and the nonviability of agricultural use of the property, the applicant finds the highest and best use would be residential. The applicant’s conceptual site plan demonstrates how a 20-lot subdivision (2.27-acre average minimum lot size) complements the agricultural area. See Exhibit B for supporting information submitted by the applicant.
