Boundary line adjustment · Planning application

Boundary line adjustment between two farm parcels approved on appeal

The county first denied the adjustment, which moves property lines between a 19.97-acre parcel with a house and garage and a 48.19-acre parcel with no structures. The Elmore County Planning and Zoning Commission reversed that denial on July 17 and approved it, and no homes or buildings would be added.

Eric Howard, for owners Wes and Christy Wootan, proposed moving the boundary line between two agricultural parcels at 2680 E Wootan Ln near King Hill, covering about 68 acres combined. The county denied the change in June 2025 because one parcel would shrink to about 15 acres, below the 40-acre minimum for the zone, and too much of the property line would move. Mr. Howard has appealed, and county staff recommend the Planning and Zoning Commission deny the appeal at its July 17, 2025 hearing.
