Nampa seeks to annex 50-acre city-owned sports park, no new development planned

The city wants to bring its existing park into city limits and zone it single-family residential, giving it police services, lighting and utility hookups. A public hearing is set for Dec. 7. Approval depends on a neighboring annexation.

The City of Nampa is asking to annex two parcels at 14309 and 14255 Midway Rd, which hold the existing city-owned Midway Sports Park, and zone them single-family residential (RS6). Annexation would give the city authority over its own park, including police services, lighting of the parking lot, courts and fields, and connection to city utilities. No new development is proposed.
