The City of Star is proposing changes to its municipal code to set up residential and special parking districts with permits, and to create an administrative citation program for enforcing city code violations. Residents or businesses in a designated district could get permits exempting their vehicles from posted parking time limits, and people cited for violations could seek an informal review and then a hearing. The proposal goes to the Mayor and Council at a public hearing on August 19, 2025.
Request from the City of Star to update and amend portions of their Municipal Code, including the current Unified Development Code, Title 8, Chapters 1 through 8, and Titles 1 through 7 and Title 10. The following actions will be taken: Establish an administrative citation program ordinance to aid in achieving compliance with city ordinances through code enforcement and establish a residential and special parking district permit ordinance to set residential parking requirements and restrictions in areas adjacent to City Parks & Facilities to protect existing residents from public parking; and to establish regulations within the Municipal Code.
