The City of Garden City proposes a citywide-style rezone of many residential properties west of Glenwood Street so zoning matches the Comprehensive Plan. Most properties would be down-zoned from R-3 to R-2 or R-M, while Willowbrook Estates would go from R-2 to R-M, and some R-20 properties would become R-3 or C-2. The Planning and Zoning Commission was scheduled to hear it as a recommending body, with the City Council making the final decision.

The city is proposing the rezone of certain properties West of Glenwood to better align with the Garden City Comprehensive Plan. This is a result of discussions with the community during the code amendment process associated with the file CPAFY2024-0004 which resulted in the R-M zoning district creation.
