Kevin Pilcher asked to build a 6-foot tan vinyl privacy fence with a double drive gate along part of the front yard of his home at 1160 W Judah Loop in Nampa. The fence would screen a parking pad for his recreational vehicle trailer, and the city approved it with conditions at staff level.

Install 6ft tall vinyl privacy fencing w/double drive gate across a portion property considered the "front" yard to store a RV trailer on the property. Topographical challenges matching the existing adjoining property fencing and frontage exist due to placement of the home on the lot. Additional topographical challenges exist on side of the property which would cause undue hardship related to level grading and grade retention to utilize the side of the property for storage of a recreational vehicle trailer. There are extraordinary site characteristics due to the placement of the home on the flag lot. Additional documentation of practical difficulty/hardship and topographical challenge is attached in the documents section to justify that the request qualifies for Variance. Note from Admin Specialist: due to the location of the house on the lot, the "front yard"--where a solid fence is limited to 3' in height--is functionally a side yard and is the only location where the RV could be parked.
