County approves Boise's updated comprehensive plan and growth-area boundary
Ada County adopted Boise's amended comprehensive plan and future land use map for unincorporated land in the city's Area of Impact, redrawing that boundary. The county said no current zoning designations of affected parcels would change.

Ada County is proposing to reestablish the City of Boise's Area of Impact, the unincorporated land around Boise that the city plans for, by adopting Boise's Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map as amended August 26, 2025. The boundary change would remove 128 parcels near S Cloverdale Road and about 90 acres tied to the Williamson River Ranch subdivision and a 2016 agreement with Eagle, and several other parcels would be added or removed. The county would also update its zoning ordinance text to reference the new plan and boundary.
